{"id":346,"date":"2009-09-14T20:16:01","date_gmt":"2009-09-15T01:16:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/quiltschenectady.org\/?p=346"},"modified":"2010-01-21T21:41:49","modified_gmt":"2010-01-22T02:41:49","slug":"september-2009-guild-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/quiltschenectady.org\/?p=346","title":{"rendered":"September 2009 Guild Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"Returning and new guild members were welcomed back after a long and, hopefully, productive quilting summer.\u00a0 Members were treated to an interesting and enjoyable presentation by Quilter, Teacher, Appraiser and Judge, Kathie Greenwold<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 Kathie's topic of the evening was \"Quilts of the Adirondacks.\"\u00a0 The presentation included a wonderful trunk show featuring many of Kathie's collection of 19th and 20th century quilts which were either made in the Adirondacks or inspired by the Adirondacks and upstate New York.\u00a0 Kathie discussed the differences of fabrics, quilting techniques and batting used by quilters in the Midwest vs. quilters on the East Coast.\u00a0\u00a0\r\n\r\nDid you know<\/em> that Quilters on the East Coast and in the Adirondacks in particular, had access to many types of\u00a0quality fabrics\u00a0due to the abundance of textile factories,\u00a0rivers and seaports?\r\n\r\nThe evening included a wonderful display of quilts created by our members.\r\n\r\nFeatured Program:<\/strong>\u00a0 \n\n \t
