April 2012 Guild Meeting
Yes, even though it was March 29th, this was the April 2012 Q.U.I.L.T.S. meeting. Since our March 2012 meeting was cancelled due to inclement weather, we had a lot to cover this evening. First up was Lynn Makrin and Kathie Greenwold from the guild's Judging Study Group who provided an overview of what judges will be looking for and how quilts will be scored for those members wishing to have their quilts judged at our quilt show which will be held in September. Their presentation included a mock judging. A special Thank You! goes out to Lynn for taking the lead and all the ladies who participated in the Judging Study Group. Bonnie Turner from Log Cabin Quilts (Ravena, NY) then took over the spotlight with her "Quilting Out of the Box - Traditions Meet Today" lecture and trunk show. Bonnie's trunk show included works from her early years through the present - all the pieces were just beautiful! Due to time limitations, a short members' show & tell was presented. Those members who did not get the opportunity to show their quilts at this meeting are encouraged to bring them back at the may meeting.
