February 2011 Guild Meeting
Our annual “Tie-In for Northeast Kids” was an 'overflowing' success. Over 30 quilt tops and backings were paired with battings graciously donated by the Gloversville Sewing Center. Guild members had the opportunity to visit with other members over a good old-fashioned quilt tying. The tied quilts were taken home by volunteers who will finish the quilts by attaching the binding and bring them back to a future guild meeting where they will be collected and turned over to Northeast Parent & Child and given to a child in need. As for it being an 'overflowing' success, since we had so many quilt tops, there were several pairings left over and it was decided to hold a second tie-in at the March meeting. The evening also included a short business meeting and members’ show & tell. Q.U.I.L.T.S. extends a special Thank You! to Gloversville Sewing Center for their generous donation of batting.
