November 2013 Guild Meeting – Annual Sew In for Kids
The November Guild Meeting was the Guild’s annual Sew-In for Northern Rivers Kids. At this meeting, members worked together to sew tops for donation to Northern Rivers Family Services. The sewing began at 4:00 and continued into the evening, with a short break for pizza, tossed salad and a business meeting. There was no Show & Tell at this meeting.
Please note: The Annual Tie-In will be held at our January 2014 meeting. So that the committee has enough time to measure quilt tops and match them up with battings, members should bring completed quilt tops along with backing and binding fabrics to the December 2013 Guild meeting.
Mark your calendars – Due to the days the holidays fall on this year, the January meeting will be held the second Thursday of the month – January 9, 2014.

October 2013 Guild Meeting
Award winning quilter and teacher, Donna Hastings, presented a lecture and trunk show highlighting her work with Mariner’s Compass quilts. The following day, many guild members attended Donna’s class where they learned her easy paper piecing technique.

The evening concluded with a large Member’s Show & Tell.

September 2013 Guild Meeting
Guild members and guests were welcomed to the new guild year with a presentation by Cathy Racine, owner of Charlton Sewing Center located in Charlton, MA. Â Cathy’s lecture, “Needles, Threads and Tension and How They Interact” was entertaining and very informative.
After Cathy’s presentation, a short business meeting was held followed by an abbreviated Members’ Show & Tell due to space constraints. Â We hope to be back to our large meeting room at the First Reformed Church of Scotia at our October meeting.

June 2013 Guild Meeting – Annual Pot Luck Dinner
The end of the guild year brings celebration. Â This was our annual pot-luck dinner meeting. Â In addition to good food, there was plenty of eye candy. Â Challenge quilts and Mystery quilts were on display, along with the usual members’ show & tell.
