September 2012 Guild Meeting
The new guild year is underway! At the September 2012 meeting, Ann Clothier, Director of Education of Saratoga County Historical Society’s Brookside Museum presented information about the “Threads of Time” exhibit of historical quilts. Ann shared valuable information about documenting quilts and things to think about before cleaning and storing older quilts.
After a short business meeting, including last minute information regarding the upcoming Autumn Inspirations 2012 show, members enjoyed a wonderful Show & Tell.

2012 Summer Cooler Sit ‘N Sew
Our 3rd Annual Summer Cooler Sit ‘N Sew was held on a sweltering Saturday in August. Around 20 guild members gathered to spend all or part of the day working on their individual quilt projects.  This event is always a good time. It’s always fun to work with fellow quilters – good conversation, knowledge sharing, inspiration, motivation – it’s what we do!

May 2012 Guild Meeting – Kaye England
Q.U.I.L.T.S. members and several guests had the experience of a lifetime at this meeting.   Kaye England, internationally known teacher and author, gave a very informative and entertaining lecture along with a trunk show of her original quilts.  Kaye shared her favorite tips and tools with the group.  She also stressed the need to share the story behind your quilts so the person you made it for understands what the quilt meant to you as you were making it.  And Kaye promised us that sheep don’t shrink in the rain!
Kaye also taught two full day workshops. On Friday, May 4th, she taught a Double Dozen class which focused on piecing techniques and how to create traditional quilt blocks in different sizes. On Saturday, May 5th, she taught The Road to Jericho, a pieced central medallion quilt with an appliqué border.
