September 2018 Guild Meeting
We began the new guild year with Ellie von Wellsheim from The MoonCatcher Project. The goal of this project is to optimize girls’ lives worldwide by removing barriers related to menstruation. The MoonCatcher Project was established to provide free reusable, washable menstrual pads that can be worn without underwear for girls in the poorest communities worldwide. These pads provide a way for girls to stay in school while menstruating, giving them a greater chance of completing their education.
The meeting also included a delightful display of members’ Show & Tell.

2017 Veterans Day Sew-In
Guild members came together on Friday, November 10th for a special sew-in for Veterans. These sew-ins, which were started in 2016, have proved to be very successful, as 67 quilts were passed out to admitted Veterans at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany, NY this past year. Guild members bring their sewing machines and sewing supplies and the guild provides fabric and ready-to-sew quilt kits. Helpers are also welcome to attend to cut, iron and assist with the sewing.
Upcoming Veterans Sew-Ins are scheduled for Friday, January 26, 2018, and Friday, April 27, 2018. Stop by any regular guild meeting and sign up to attend!
