Q.U.I.L.T.S. on “Schenectady Today”
Wow! We are getting a ton of publicity for our upcoming Autumn Inspirations 2010!  Lois Bena, Crickett Sweet & Kathy Hermance will be appearing on public access channel 16’s program, “Schenectady Today” with Ann Parillo. They were the last of 5 groups that Ann interviewed, so sit tight….it will be worth the wait.  The show will air Wednesday, September 22 @ 10am, 6pm & 1am (for night owls). It appears from the schedule on their website, openstagemedia.com, that they repeat the shows again on Thursday and Friday at those same times.   If you don’t have cable TV or are located outside of the Schenectady area where your cable does not carry this station, you can watch the show by going to their website at the same time it is airing on cable TV.
You can also view the video of the segment on the web.  Just follow these directions: Â

September 2010 Guild Meeting
Welcome all to the 2010/2011 guild year!  And what a great start we had!  After introductions of officers & committee members and “thank you’s” to outgoing officers & committee members and quilt show logistics were discussed, members were treated to a presentation by Sue Pritt of Sweet Season Quilts. Sue spoke about developing her original appliqué designs and getting them published. She also gave the group a sneak preview of her-yet-to-be published piece. The evening also included the usual dazzling display of show & tell.
Sue will be presenting a workshop for guild members on October 23, 2010. Good seats still available! Contact Kathie Greenwold for more information by email at lcgreeny@aol.com or by phone 370-1667.

2010 Summer Cooler Sit N’ Sew
Is there a better way to spend a hot, humid summer day than in the air conditioned Underground at Proctors stitching away with a bunch of fellow quilters?  Approximately 15 QUILTS members and friends attended our first annual Summer Cooler Sit N’ Sew.  Most of the quilters worked on comfort quilts for the Guild’s Northeast Kids and Injured Soldiers projects while others used the day to catch up on personal quilting projects.  New friends were made, lunch was wonderful – whether it was brown bag or from one of the wonderful downtown Schenectady eateries, and the accommodations were perfect. A special thank you goes out to Proctors for making sure we had everything we needed for a fun, productive Sit N’ Sew.

June 2010 Guild Meeting
QUILTS members celebrated the end of a successful guild year with the traditional potluck dinner. Good company and good food – what more could anyone ask for! Following a short business meeting and raffles, members participated in a wonderful show and tell, which included finished mystery quilts and geometric challenge quilts.
